Two Arrests in the Aftermath of London Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

The assault resulted in the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park.

Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later released.

Police detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault near the scene. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that police said was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
